My love for bears started about twenty five years ago. After a few years of hiatus from collecting, I began again in 1993.

In 1999, my boyfriend suggested I take a bearmaking course and learn to make my own. I had never sewn anything except buttons on clothing. I was the one in the class who asked the most questions, couldn't figure out how to hold the leg to get it to stitch right, meanwhile the other ladies in the group who had years of sewing experience were whipping along like nobody's business. I never thought I'd ever get that first bear finished. After making a few of other people's patterns, I now design my own bears.
